Driving Directions:From Vancouver: Drive east on Hwy #1 to Hope (160Km). Take Coquihalla Hwy (Hwy #5) and drive north for ~20Km. After you go through the avalanche tunnel, drive for 3Km and take exit 217. Drive through the small tunnel to get to the other side of the highway.
Of the hikes outlined in "103 Hikes" I think Needle Peak broke my "top 10 best" list easily.
On a perfect day, I went with 4 well matched Wanderung companions to a Coquihalla trail I thought was "outside" of my dayhike driving range more...
Needle Peak is as fun in the winter as it is in the summer. Parking is close and convenient, there's a bathroom right there, and you'll have to forget the compass at home and try really hard if you want to get lost.

It was raining in Vancouver but turned out to be a wonderful day on Coquihalla. Stunning red shades of the leaves, and a perfect day to celebrate the end of the great hiking season. This was a Wanderung hike organized by Ahmad.
