Hiding from the occasional drizzle under the canopy of gigantic trees, we headed up Alouette Mnt. from the Mike Lake parking lot. Feeling a little adventurous, followed the right fork and tried for a shortcut instead of following the left fork with an arrow. Found ourselves in a serious bushwhack which, as all shortcuts should, of course, took us much longer than the regular route on the way back :).

The very muddy and slippery trail kept us constantly looking under our feet. The snow started in patches shortly before 1000m and turned into full cover in the meadows around 1100m. No snowshoes were required, but some of us used microspikes for additional traction.

Lack of precipitation while on the mountain, views of the majestic Blanchard Needle and great company made it a worthwhile day. This was a Wanderung hike organized by Dan.

So, the Incline Trail is boring. Naturally, some in the group needed to spice it up with some tree climbing!
