This is a very nice half-day hike with good views of the Lions, Sea to Sky Hwy, Howe Sound and Tantalus Range. It was rewarding for the amount of effort and time, and current (non) fitness level!
On the way up, we took the Yew Lake trail and up a switchbacking, gravel path to the Howe Sound Crest Trail. The gravel path has little shade, and we were there around noon on a hot day; if I were to go again in summer, I'd take the alternate trail through the trees. We made the side trip to Bowen Lookout, which is worth the extra time for the views. The rest of the trail goes through forest, and then meadows. The trail has lots of roots.
Buggy all the way through, which made stopping undesirable but we came out of it relatively unscathed without bug repellant. Not too many people at the top, but this was probably due to our late start. As we were heading there, many people were heading back.
Overall, a fantastic hike for somewhere near the city with moderate effort and time investment.
