My original plan was to bike to Norvan falls and then climb Crown peak from the scrambling route which branches off Hanes Valley trail. I started optimistically at 3:10pm. There were tons of people in the park. I biked about 2/3 to 3/4 of the first 4Km of Lynn trail. There are some interesting sections which require complete focus and some very hard sections to be handled. I walked them instead. Just before the 4Km marker, the trail becomes too rough to be biked. I walked the rest of the 3Km to the Falls. I continued along Hanes Valley trail to Grouse chalet changing my plan.

There is quite a big log that crosses Lynn creek. I didn't see it and jumped on the rocks instead. Quite a big jump and I questioned if I was going to make it to the other side. On Hanes trail, I met two girls who seemed to like starting late too. They were the only people that I met.

There are several junctions along the way from Crown Pass and the Chalet. Some of them have clear marks and some not. It can be confusing. Hanes boulder section has quite a number of orange tape markers but some of them are quite hidden.

After coming down from the chalet, I took bus 232 whose route crosses the route of bus 228 which takes you back to Lynn Valley road. The bus ride takes about an hour or perhaps more. The gate at Lynn park locks at 9pm. I parked outside.

There were some new signs of bears on Hanes trail but I didn't see one.

Biking/hiking time was 6:15 hours.
