This is one of my favorite short trails in North Shore. I have hiked it many times over the past several years. This is one of few alpine areas that has been preserved from skiing and its sense of wilderness is appealing. The trail appeared recently in a popular guide book and I can see that more people have visited this place and little parts of its wilderness has been lost but hopefully that the increasing traffic will preserve it and other places from any development.
The trail distance gives an impression that it is just 2Km longer that Dog Mountain trail but it requires some scrambling making it different. It is also not that well marked in some places.
We started at 5pm and just finished it shortly before 9pm in relaxed pace.
