I am not a fan. #@$& this trail. :) The heat on the day we went was intense and this factors into my assessment, but mostly this was not a terribly enjoyable area. It was four hours of slogging through fairly dull second-growth forest with nary a view to be had, no interesting trees, mosses or flowers to see, nothing but another uphill step before us. Finally reaching the summit area we had a spectacular view of the Blanshard Needle, Edge Peak and a bit of Golden Ears, but being the sort that finds the journey more important than the inn, this was not a favourite.

Bring all the water you'll need, there was nothing but a few blaggy ponds at the top.

On the bright side, we did see some climbers descending from the Blanshard Needle. Scary looking!

Man, without a view at the top this trail could entirely suck. My sympathies.

Finally, someone else that dislikes Alouette Mtn! When I did it, the fog was so thick I never could even see the hiker in front of me.
