After barely finding an empty parking space, five of us started the hike from the Rubble Creek parking lot at 10 am on a beautifully bright and warm Saturday morning. We pushed on reasonably fast, reaching the map after the 6 km mark at 11:20. There were a few mosquitoes in the forest between the parking lot and the Taylor Meadows Campground in the morning but none on the way back. We were lucky to not have mosquitoes, flies or other bugs pestering us on the trail.

With three 15 min breaks, we made it to the top of the ridge at 2:15 and spend 1h 15min enjoying the views: the unbelievably blue shade of the Garibaldi Lake, the majestic Black Tusk and the surreal colours of the surrounding rock, red and black, highlighted by white snow.

The trail up until the Panorama Ridge is in very good condition and is almost completely dry. The ridge itself has a few densely packed snow patches, and some care should be taken when scrambling to the very top due to lose rubble. The way back took us 3 hours and we were at the parking lot at 6:30, with plenty of time for a dinner in Squamish.

All in all, a fantastic sunny day, spectacular views of the mountains, a fit company and good exercise. Thanks again to Pablo for organizing a Wanderung hike to this wonderful destination.
