It starts with a long wide trail, with lots of switchbacks, going up slowly along Rubble Creek to the barrier. The trail was snow free to the 6km mark. Once we reached Taylor Meadows, snowshoes were on (though not entirely necessary). While crossing the meadows, we were greeted by incredible views on Black Tusk in one direction and the Tantalus range in the other. The top of Black Tusk was snow free and looked doable.
We decided to cut the summer trail and headed towards the north side of Mimulus lake and went straight up the Panorama ridge slopes. Snow conditions were good. We traversed below the first false summit of Panorama ridge on steep slopes and arrived on the final ridge soon after. Views are breath taking. That mountain has a fantastic panorama. It was sunny and warm so we took a small nap at the summit. We went down the same way without snowshoes.
