I did this hike with the North Shore Hikers. The goal was to get to the top of what is left of the summit that collapse during the Hope Slide in the sixties. The start is a very very steep grunt in the forest. No trail. Only a few rubans here and there. Mosquitoes are back and hungry.
There is a great view point half way up with direct views of Sunshine Valley below.
After 3h of steep climb, we reached a plateau and snow started. No need for snowshoes. We traversed the plateau and reached the ridge on the other side and followed it on the left to the summit. No more mosquitoes up there. Yey!!!

On the way back, Matt lost himself in the forest. It took about an hour to find him again, even with talkie-walkie, whistle and horn. Man it's easy to get lost in the forest!

The goal of this hike is Johnson Peak, the rest of the summit that collapse during the Hope Slide in the sixties. The start is a very very steep grunt in the forest. No trail. The organizer of the hike went 3 weeks earlier to tape a way up using his GPS
