That's was one of my longest hike/scramble/climb. It starts with 2 hours of thick bushwacking through thorn bushes, alder etc. Lots of scratches on legs and hands :(
Add a creek fording and a steep ascent in the forest on the south side of a creek flowing from the north basin of Tricouni. Once in the Alpine, we reached the toe of the North Ridge by ascending a small glacier, and scrambling up slabs. This is where the real fun scrambling (class 3-4, low 5th) started, first on ledges with heather, then on rocks. We simul-climbed to the summit.
From there, we went down the standard route on the southwest side, but turned north to reach the long traverse ridge towards Cypress Peak. Lots of ups and downs along the ridge, with great views in all directions. Gerry ran to bag Cypress Peak as well. The rest of us had already been up there and we were not looking for more uphill.
We reached the glacier below the peak just as the sun was going down. Still about 1000m elevation to loose in the dark. The descent on the boulders on the northeast side of Cypress peak to get back to Roe Creek seemed endless. The whole trip took about 18 hours...

Let's go through really thick thorn bushes, just for fun :p
