I wanted to do this for about a year and finally I managed to gather some folks and climb Baker. We hiked up the Heliotrope Ridge trail to the foot of the glacier whch took us about 2 hours. From there we went up Coleman glacier which is ver icey with tons of open crevesses at this time of the year. After another 2.5 hurs we reached Heliotrope ridge and set uo camp.
The next morning we started at 3am to head to the summit. There was some fresh snow on the glacier which made things a little easier.
At around 9am we reached a big crevesse that required some ice climbing up to the summit plateau.
We reached the summit at around 10am and started to get down after a short break and some summit pictures.
We got back to the parkinglot at around 7pm.

This was a great trip and I enjoyed it a lot. However, the icy conditions this time of the year make this climb much harder than expected.
