The more interesting side of Hayward Lake. Easy to follow and with a good footbed at all times. A few small muddy puddles along the way. Autumn is a good time to do this hike with colourful maples and lots of fungi. The highlight of this trail is Steelhead Falls, reached by a short side trail. It had rained a lot the day before so the falls were in good flow (lots of camera-soaking spray).

We combined this with the 6-km Railway Trail to make a complete circuit of Hayward Lake.
