Easy to reach and fun to ramble - an excellent easy destination. Reached off the eastern (lower) arm of the Dam Mountain loop, the turnoff is marked (currently) by a low pole with orange flagging. There is a poled route to the the ridge - most poles do not have reflective flashing and are marked with black tape - don't rely on these at night. ;) The ridge is fairly open though, even with the low snow levels, and navigation should be simple in clear weather.

The snow was more like ice - very firm (I didn't posthole at all, wearing boots) and often with a slippery crust. The trail bed is especially icy, but going off trail doesn't help much with regards to traction. I put on my crampons early and kept them on all day and was much happier for it.

The views are fine, and it seems much less-traveled than nearby Dam Mountain.

these are really some pictures. They put absolutely the person in mood to see these mountains in real.
