The trail is a relatively short drive away and offers a dry and snow-free hike rare this time of year. We started at 9:30 from the trailhead and reached the viewpoint in 50 minutes at a moderate pace. The trail up to the viewpoint is well-walked and is mostly a series of tight switchbacks uphill.
The grade eases past the viewpoint and the trail becomes less distinct and overgrown at times, with lots of deadfall. However, abundance of flagging tape was sufficient to keep us on the right route which made a few dips along the way and led along the old FSR for a few hundred meters.
It took us 2h 20min to get to the peak which had a functional station and a road coming in from the other side. We were back at the car just after 2pm, making it a short enjoyable day.
