For a February day, this felt like a warm September outing...

Sure most of this trail is a logging road but for a low level trip it had 2 good payoffs, plus I got a bit of early season cardio.

Hoover lake itself is a nice diversions and the trial al of the way there is well singed so you don't ned to question any of the spurs as the possible trail. The better part however, is the extra 5 or so km after the turn to the lake. The view at the end of the logging road (see my GPS data for details) was a pleasant surprise.

Views of Stave lake and the mountains beyond (only a few had snow at all!) were panoramic, and an area I'd never seens before. Think about this one as an option if you need a shorter day out and are curious about the Stave Lake area.

Pics and GPS coming.
