We did this as a bike 'n hike, as the LSCR bikeway is clear and dry. The trail is almost uniformly steep. It goes up until it hits the summit, period. It is well-flagged and there are ziploc bags containing route descriptions on two different trees along the route. We hit snow about a third of the way up, but it was thin until the last 200m of elevation where it became knee to thigh deep. There was fresh snow at the higher elevations, but it was melting rapidly - we were assaulted by tree rain and snow/slush bombs the whole way. The damp snow made for slippery conditions and postholing. There is one section about 10 minutes from the summit where we put on crampons and brought out the ice axes to traverse a sleep slope with an ugly looking gully below. The crampons were most useful on the steep, slippery descent. At the summit, we had light snow and totally clouded in conditions.... for about five minutes. Then the clouds cleared and the sun came out and we lay in the sunshine for two hours. Now that's timing.
