Larsen Trail (From Grouse Grind parking lot) one way trail map
This is a quiet trail that offers another option to get to Grouse chalet. Starting from Grouse Grind gate. Take Baden Powell and head east. Hike for 1.1Km or 15 minutes. Watch for a sign that says "Old BCMC and Larson Trail". This is the junction to Larson trail. If you reach to the fall, you went too far. From the junction, the terrain steepen. In some sections, the markers are sparse but the footpath is well defined. The trail eventually connects to BCMC trail at 900m elevation.

No hiking plans were made for this weekend due to indecisive weather, so Dan and I headed to North Shore for a quick morning workout. The Grouse Grind parking lot was nearly full just after 8am, and we continued along the BP, past BCMC, and towards Larsen trail. I'd never been in this area of the lower Grouse before, and found it very enjoyable: all the crowds were on GG and BCMC, leaving us almost in the wilderness, as much of it as one can get this close to the city, anyway. The trail, steep in places, is now well-marked and carries blacked-out marks on some of the trees as well. The ground was surprisingly dry given the recent downpours; although as usual, some mud was present closer to the top after joining BCMC. Only a trace of snow on the very top of Grouse, and lots of it could be seen on Crown and Camel.
