The trail is still close but in good condition and snow free. Traffic was light on the trail perhaps 30 hikers. There was notice on the trail that will be a routine maintenance starting tomorrow till April 3rd and delays are expected.
It was first time to take my daughter up on the Grind using MEC child carrier. As I have no experience in carriers, I thought to share quickly my experience perhaps somebody might find it useful. It is quite a hassle to put the child in. It is as twice complicated as a car seat. I am sure that I will get better at it over time but that for sure discouraged me from stopping and taking her out. The carrier also squeaks unpleasantly all the time. It also doesn't seem to be that comfortable to my daughter as she refused to get on the carrier after a short break at the 3/4 marker and cried all the way till we got to the top. It could be that she was tired of sitting. On the positive side, it is light, secure, and cheap. The alternatives were more than twice as expensive. I have no doubt that their quality are better but really doubt they cost that much. It is more that frustrating when companies try make as much profit as possible in outdoor products and especially in child related ones.
