This area feels abandoned and isolated but yet the relaxing mood of Border Peak and the other prominent peaks as they become visible the further elevation I gain add a feeling of wonder and admiration. Mcguire Peak looks even more impressive than I have seen it anywhere from the road or from other nearby peaks. After about 14Km of hiking, I was exhausted to push further and turned back.
There are a number of confusing junctions, I tried to mark them with pictures as you can see on the track. At the very end of my track, I should have taken the left turn at the triple junction instead of the middle as I see now from Matt Gunn's book.
There are many marks of a bear on the logging road some of them were recent. They were layout in way as they were angrily and firmly marking its terrain. It could be because the nearby gun shots that I heard in the first half hour. I felt a bit nervous as I pass its terrain lines as I thought that I might come cross as the shooter or shooters but didn't see any bear.
Total trip took 8 hours. I left my bike at photo 11 as the road surface becomes loose and rough.
