We had a fun little bushwhacking ramble up Conroy Creek with an eye to finding an alternate route up to Mt. Price in Garibaldi Park. The bush wasn't too bad but our route finding was a bit off as we were having trouble with our crappy old GPS device, but we did manage to get to a nice viewpoint that showed the way forward if one wanted to make for Mt. Price, which we didn't as the bugs were horrendous and we wanted to leave time to find a better route back to the logging road. We did find some blue tape marking a possible route up on the ridge that others have put in and there were little bits of trail here and there so we obviously aren't the only ones taking an interest in this beautiful but buggy area. We also came across a lot of bear poop, there's lots of blueberries and huckleberries and meadows in this area. On the included map the red line shows our route in and the purple line our route out. We will probably be heading back up Conroy Creek for more exploring once the weather cools a little and the bugs are hopefully less ferocious. Access to Conroy Creek FSR is via Highway 99, approx 24.5 km north of Squamish (from the intersection of Cleveland Ave and Highway 99). Start driving North on Highway 99 from Squamish and continue past the Culliton Creek Bridge (Orange Bridge). The turn off for Conroy FSR is approximately 3 km north from the orange bridge. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is needed to get up the logging road, we parked approx. 10kms up the main line.
