While the views along the ridge and at the summit were fantastic, I don't think I'd bother doing this again. From steep heather slopes to boulder hopping to scree plodding, this hike has it all. :-P
Finding the trail out of the campground was easy, and there were enough cairns to keep us on the right track. Identifying the trail up the scree slope was harder but we found the right one. It's actually much easier to identify if you walk away from the ridgeline (west) a short distance. The scree was loose and not particularly pleasant going in either direction. Once atop the ridge, we passed between two cairns and headed over to the northern edge of the ridge with its abrupt dropoff and unbelievable view of a massive (unnamed) glacier. Getting to the summit (with its impressive cairn) was easy from here, with just some very minor scrambling to follow a short, colourful scree chute rather than climb the bluffs. Views from the summit were superb... or would have been had there not been so much smoke haze. However, we did have the enormous glacier to stare at over lunch. That was truly an amazing sight.
