DIRECTIONS: From Bellingham take Mt Baker highway to maintenance yard just past mile 46 marker. Take twin lakes fsr from east end of yard behind work yard bldg for 5 miles. Pass the first trail marker to second trailhead called YELLOW ASTER BUTTE. At yellow aster descend to tarns then proceed up visible trail north west of tarns.create
SUMMARY: The first peak is simple. The second peak is a scramble. Third peak should only be attempted by intermediate hikers or climbers. Ridge towards American peak is dangerous when snow covered.create

I actually climbed it both on Sat late afternoon (solo, needed some route finding), and Sunday early morning (as a guide to my team mates).
I don't want to describe the route, because I saw so many people trying to climb with no helmet and probably not enough skills.
Any of them can easily endanger others.
There's a short but very narrow and exposed edge, which is one-way only.
Not good for a lot of people.
All I wanted to say is that it's beautiful, and autumn color in all its splendor.
Gears I used: helmet, micro-spikes. Maybe you can do without the spikes. One short stretch of snow may be steep enough to call for spikes. I went in with no spikes Saturday ~5pm, wore them on the way out around 6:30pm, and the next morning.
