This 10 km loop starts and ends at the Olympic Park Biathlon Range. Depending on the snow conditions this could be a moderate to difficult snowshoe.
This was not at all our original plan, but the gate was locked which added 2 hours on either end of our day and with such short daylight these days that pretty much sealed the deal for us. (The GPS track is only the loop and not the extra on either end for us on this day).
You payoff is reaching Hanging Lake with views of Rainbow Mountain. I am sure this would be a wonderful summer hike, and a great destination for an over-nighter with access to Sproatt, Gin and Rainbow Peaks as second day events.
