After checking out Cascade Falls we decided to venture off and explore Davis. Lightly raining at the time. The hale, thunder & lightening didn't start till at the lake. This added to our adventure! Big fun! :)
I knew of this area from my atv years. It's a great place for 4x4ing as well.
At the end of Sylvester road you'll come to the Lost Creek service road. Approx. 3.7 kms you will see a road heading down on your left. You can only hike here. ATVS and 4x4s are not aloud on this road. In order to view the falls...stop right after the bridge and park on the left. You'll see a spot. And the falls. The trailhead starts on the right side of the bridge leading directly to the falls. It's flagged once you are in the forest. You can also just follow the creekside down to the lake. Either or. It's very steep so watch your step. The falls are super cool. You don't really get the entire perspective of them until you venture farther down. You can really feel their fierce power. It was thundering over the rocks like a jet engine. They sort of cascade into three different views. The spray was welcoming...even in the rain. I wish the weather had been better as I would have practiced with my nikon.
A lot of garbage here. Very sad to see so much left behind by others. Although a very pretty area, it appears to be a bit of a party spot. I think once cleaned up it would be very lovely. A great place for a short camping trek as well.
MacDonald falls are a hidden gem. Very impressive. My pics don't begin to do them justice. The lake was very calm and peacful.
I'll return soon with my camera. A fun place to photograph.
Happy trails :)
