The wildflowers were in bloom and the views phenomenal.
On the bad side: the bugs, and lack of trail.
103 hikes says that it is route finding but I estimate we were off trail for more than 50% of this and in serious danger of getting lost or extending our journey. DO NOT do this hike without a map and compass or a GPS. 103 Hikes is not a sufficient guide but some other hikers had a Coquihalla specific book that was much better.
A few more tips: Cabin lake is nice, but you do not need to walk that whole road if your goal is the peak. Instead cut up the ATV trail earlier. Also, between 103 5th edition and 6th edition, they removed the FSR last 5 km as an option to drive. A 2WD would not make it but they over state how difficult it would be for a good 4X4 with clearance.
