No hiking plans were made for this weekend due to indecisive weather, so Dan and I headed to North Shore for a quick morning workout. The Grouse Grind parking lot was nearly full just after 8am, and we continued along the BP, past BCMC, and towards Larsen trail. I'd never been in this area of the lower Grouse before, and found it very enjoyable: all the crowds were on GG and BCMC, leaving us almost in the wilderness, as much of it as one can get this close to the city, anyway.
The trail, steep in places, is now well-marked and carries blacked-out marks on some of the trees as well. The ground was surprisingly dry given the recent downpours; although as usual, some mud was present closer to the top after joining BCMC. Only a trace of snow on the very top of Grouse, and lots of it could be seen on Crown and Camel.
