It has dawned on me that a lot of my hikes originally start off at one place but end up elsewhere. Whyte lake was one such adventure. Originally we were supposed to head up to Bowen lookout, but a turn of events-- and a lot of snow made us reconsider such decision.
Blindly setting out, we ended up going up and back down the old helipad route (I think that is what the little sign said). Overall, a pleasant adventure. We sat on the dock, in the snow, sipping our coffee and dangling our legs onto the ice. Just another lovely winter day by the lake.
